_When Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbaas (رضي الله عنهما) began turning blind, he was advised to have it treated. However the treatment required him to leave out salaah for a few days. He refused saying that_ *Nabi (صلي الله عليه وسلم) said: “Whoever omits his salaah will meet Allah Ta‘ala in such a condition that Allah Ta‘ala will be angry with him.”*
*_(Majma‘uz Zawaaid #1632)_*

_Lesson:_ ```Salaah was so dear to the Sahaabah (radhiy) and meant so much to them that they could bear the challenges of remaining blind for the rest of their lives, but could not tolerate the missing of a few salaah.```

```On the other hand, missing salaah upon salaah for lame excuses is something absolutely normal for us. More tragic than missing the salaah is perhaps the lack of any regret or remorse over missing it, due to having become accustomed to missing salaah often.```
Hadith of The Day
A Sahaabi (رضي الله عنه) once mentioned to Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه وسلم),
“O Rasul of Allah! So-and-so woman performs nafl salaah at night and keeps nafl fasts during the day. However, she has a wicked tongue with which she harms her neighbours.” Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) remarked, “There is no good in her. She will be punished.” Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) was then asked regarding another woman,
“O Rasul of Allah! So-and-so woman suffices on performing the fardh (and sunnah) salaah and keeping the fardh fast of Ramadhaan (i.e. she does not engage in abundant nafl worship). However, she gives pieces of cheese in charity, despite not having anything else, and does not cause harm to anybody.” Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) remarked, “She will go to Jannah.”
